0-60 in Under 10 Seconds - May 31, 2008
What a whirlwind it has been since I announced on May 1 that I am running against Jon Porter in CD 3. The initial call from Nancy Pelosi was very flattering, as have been the attention and support from Democratic leaders here in Nevada and in Washington, D.C. But most gratifying are the hundreds of calls, letters, and emails from you, saying, “Please Run! CD 3 needs your help.”
In response, we’ve gone from 0 to 60 in under 10 seconds. I attended a fundraiser hosted by Speaker Pelosi for her “Red to Blue” priority candidates and spent several days in Washington visiting with members of Congress and representatives of various organizations. We have hired a top notch consulting team and have a great new office on Sunset near Pecos, across from Kmart. Lots of speaking engagements are being scheduled and the local Team Titus members are gearing up for the fight!
I know the major issues facing CD 3 and our nation, like skyrocketing gas prices and insurance costs, housing foreclosures and the war in Iraq; but I want to hear from you. What is worrying you and your families the most? What suggestions do you have for making things better? What is important to your neighborhood, your kid’s school, your church, your colleagues at work? Together we can come up with some real solutions that will help real people like us as we go about our everyday lives. Together we can take Nevada common sense, old fashioned values, and hard work to Washington instead of bringing the Bush Administration’s failed policies home to Nevada. That in a nutshell will be the biggest difference between Jon Porter and me.
