DCCC program helps most competitive candidates with fundraising, organizing
For Immediate Release: June 18, 2008

Sen. Dina Titus is being placed on the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's top tier of campaigns, ensuring she will have national fundraising and strategic support in her run for Congressional District 3.

DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen announced the list of new "Red to Blue" members today.

A recent poll shows Titus running neck-and-neck with Rep. Jon Porter, a six-year incumbent who has the lowest approval rating in Nevada's congressional delegation. Porter also was placed in the top tier of vulnerable candidates in a recent national poll of competitve districts.

"I'm proud to accept this support as I fight to be a strong voice in Washington for the residents of Congressional District 3," Titus said. "Over the next few months, this program will help me take special interests to task and fight to cut taxes for the middle class, end the war in Iraq and improve our health care system."
Red to Blue was a proven success in the 2004 and 2006 cycles. In 2004, the Red to Blue program raised nearly $7.5 million for 27 campaigns across the country with an average of more than $250,000 per campaign. In 2006, the Red to Blue program raised nearly $22.6 million for 56 campaigns. Red to Blue was also responsible for solidifying the structure of dozens of campaigns and making a real difference for Democrats across America.
