LAS VEGAS - The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee had good news this morning for congressional candidates Dina Titus and Jill Derby.
Titus, a state senator from Las Vegas, is challenging Republican Rep. Jon Porter in Nevada's 3rd Congressional District in a race that is among the most competitive in the country.  In turn, Democrats announced they have added her to the committee's "Red to Blue" program, which, according to chairman Chris Van Hollen, "will give these candidates the financial and structural edge to be even more competitive in November."
Titus was among 14 candidates who qualified for national support in part by meeting fundraising goals.  The campaign committee is targeting 37 races so far.  In 2006, the program raised nearly $22.6 million for 56 campaigns, with an average of $404,000 per campaign.
