| The Heck-Angle Agenda -- Leaving Nevada Behind |
|
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Monday, July 12, 2010 Over the weekend, Senator Joe Heck gave a ringing endorsement for Sharron Angle and her radical agenda that he has fully embraced. At the Nevada Republican Party Convention, Senator Heck threw his support behind Angle in what was no surprise given that he has trumpeted the same philosophy that calls for the privatization of Social Security and he believes it is not the role of Congress to create jobs. “Senator Heck has made it clear that he is rallying around Sharron Angle and going all in behind an agenda that would gamble seniors’ Social Security in the stock market while lining the pockets of Wall Street bankers,” Titus campaign manager Matt Lydon said. “At a time when so many Nevadans are struggling to find work the people of District Three cannot afford the core Heck-Angle belief that it would not be their job to create jobs while in Congress. They need a fighter like Dina Titus who has stood by their side, taking on the big banks, big oil, and big insurance companies that Senator Heck has protected his whole career.” On Saturday, Senator Heck said, “we have to rally around a slate of candidates up and down the ticket – Sharron Angle all the way down.” (Las Vegas Review-Journal, 7/11/10) In a recent interview, Senator Heck called for the privatization of Social Security, saying, “I believe that any individual should have the right to voluntarily take their portion of Social Security withholding and invest it.” (Nevada News and Views, 5/4/10) In addition, Senator Heck declared, “the role of Congress is not to create jobs.” (Nevada Newsmakers, 5/5/10) # # # |
