Congresswoman Dina Titus’ Statement on American Action Network’s Las Vegas Ad Buy
7/7/2022
Las Vegas, NV – Today the American Action Network, a 501(c)(4) organization affiliated with the Republican Congressional Leadership Fund superPAC, launched a nearly $1 million dark-money ad blitz attacking Congresswoman Dina Titus (D-NV). The ad uses a misleading and out of context quote from over two years ago to make it sound as if the Congresswoman supports a gas tax increase. Congresswoman Titus released the following statement:
“I oppose any effort to increase the gas tax. Plain and simple.”
“I helped pass the bill to make Big Oil’s price gouging illegal – not a single Republican voted for it. I cosponsored the bill to implement a federal gas tax holiday – not a single Republican joined. My opponent Mark Robertson is another party-line obstructionist standing in the way of real solutions to lower costs for the people of this district.”
“National Republicans think that they can trick Southern Nevadans into electing another rubber-stamp member to their caucus with misinformation and millions of dollars of dark money. They’re betting that Southern Nevada voters aren’t smart enough to see through it, and they’re wrong.”
